A Summary of the Nonattainment Status of the Criteria Air Pollutants


As of August 30, 2011, there were 44 ozone (8-hour 1997 standard), 9 sulfur dioxide, 45 PM-10, 39 PM-2.5 (1997 Standard), 32 PM-2.5 (2006 Standard), 2 lead (original standard), and 16 lead (2008 Standard) in the United States. There are no CO and NO2 nonattainment areas in the United States. Maps of the ozone, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, lead, PM-10, and PM-2.5 nonattainment areas are on this web site for your review and download.
